Pipestone County Historical Society Annual Meeting Program
After several being rescheduled several times, the Pipestone County Historical Society’s Annual Meeting program will be held April 27 at 1 pm at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 221 4th Street SE. HPI members Lorraine Draper and Trava Olivier will be presenting on Historic Pipestone Incorporated (HPI). They will be presenting on the history of the organization and the group’s current projects.
Historic Pipestone Inc. was organized in 1976 to promote preservation and restoration of Pipestone’s historic buildings and to provide tourists an opportunity to learn of the city’s history. Over the past four decades, HPI has worked towards these goals through feasibility studies, recommendations and artistic design, as well as monetarily. Projects HPI has been a part of include the Calumet Inn, the historic Water Tower, Rock Island Depot, the Keyes Building and their current project, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.
