Pipestone County Historical Society
Our Mission:
“The object of the Society is to foster an awareness of Pipestone County’s history and its connection with the history of Minnesota, the region and nation, reflecting the belief that the study of the past can enrich people’s perspectives on the present and provide them guidance for the future.”

Membership
At PCHS membership is very important. Members are what drive what we do and make it possible to accomplish. Members choose at what annual level they would like to support us. They receive “The Prairie Traveler” our quarterly newsletter which is chocked full of great historic articles and information on our current events. Members also receive Free Admission and Discounts on research and purchases in the gift shop. We can’t do what we do without your support.

Volunteer
PCHS is busy with projects and we are expanding our offerings to the public. We are in need of Volunteers to help us deliver- we can accomplish more with your help! Do you enjoy:
- Working with groups of adults or schoolchildren?
- Working on organization and data-entry projects?
- Leading crafts or hands-on activities?
- Helping with maintenance, small building projects & repairs?
- Research and writing?
If yes, we would like to work with you!

Donate
PCHS relies on the support of our membership, the community and others just like you who support our mission. Donations allow us to complete projects and pursue service to our membership and the community.

Committees
PCHS has organized committees in several areas to help focus our projects and we are seeking committee members to help Brainstorm-Identify-Guide-and Help Complete projects. Each committee meets once per month to discuss ideas, goals and accomplishments as well as to plan projects in the named areas. Requirements: Must be a PCHS member in good standing and have an interest in accomplishment.

Board
The PCHS Board of Directors has nine seats. Terms are for three years, and three seats are up for election each year. There is a two consecutive term limit. All board members must be members in good standing of the Pipestone County Historical Society. Board nominations take place every year in November. Board members are voted in at the Society’s annual meeting, which usually takes place in February. If you are interested in serving on the PCHS Board of Directors, please contact Pipestone County Museum Executive Director, Susan Hoskins, at susanhoskins@iw.net for more information.
