In 2018 the nation marked the 100th Anniversary of World War One. To show Pipestone County’s involvement in the war, the Pipestone County Historical Society has an exhibit and education programming to pay tribute to the men and women who served from Pipestone County as well as to tell the stories of events on the home front during this time.

World War I Vets
Learn about Pipestone County veterans through a project called Identifying World War One Veterans of Pipestone County. Local historian David Rambow was the primary researcher for this project. He compiled veterans’ biographical and service information. This project has been financed in part with funds provided by the State of Minnesota from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund through the Minnesota Historical Society.
